Event Description

The UI Center for Human Rights invites you to join us for a free screening of Philomath Films award-winning documentary Shakespeare Behind Bars, followed by a Q&A with the founder and producing director of the Shakespeare Behind Bars program, Curt Tofteland. Now in its 22nd consecutive year, Curt currently facilitates seven Shakespeare Behind Bars programs in two Michigan prisons serving over one hundred prisoners each week.

This event kicks off the UICHR conference "The Role of Transformative Education in Successful Reentry" at the University Capitol Centre, Sept.r 8 and 9. More info here: https://uiowa.edu/higheredandsuccessfulreentry/
