December 10 is Human Rights Day, commemorating the United Nations’ adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in 1948. Human Rights Day, officially instated in 1950, is a day on which the UN and human rights advocates around the world invite everyone to affirm our shared humanity and the values and principles set forth in the UDHR.
On Friday December 9, come visit the UI Center for Human Rights staff and interns at the Main Library. In anticipation of Human Rights Day, we will be distributing copies of the UDHR and information about getting involved in human rights-related activities at the University of Iowa. There will also be cookies and other treats!
Visit us on December 9 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Learning Commons (group area D) at the UI Main Library.
