Stella Burch Elias is a Professor of Law at the University of Iowa College of law where she teaches public international law, immigration law, and civil procedure courses.  She researches and writes about immigration law and policy and its intersection with international and comparative law.  She holds a B.A. and M.A. from Oxford University and a J.D. from Yale Law School.  She previously taught at Harvard Law School and Peking University School of Transnational Law but served as a diplomat in the United Kingdom’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office before teaching.
