Andrew Bloom is a Master's student in Secondary Social Studies in the College of Education. He holds an International Studies BA from the University of Iowa, where he focused on Islam, the Middle East, and Arabic language. As an undergraduate, he spent a year at the Center for Human Rights as a Rex Honey intern. Following graduation, he spent nine months living and studying at the Arabic Language Institute in Fes, Morocco. Andrew returned to Iowa and worked briefly in finance before pursuing a career in teaching. His research interests include storytelling as a method for instruction, human rights in the high school curriculum, and teaching in a post-truth world.
