Gabor Rona, Professor of Practice at Cardozo Law School, will discuss recent developments under international law with respect to the Israel-Palestine conflict, including charges brought by the International Criminal Court against both Israeli and Hamas leaders for war crimes. Professor Rona will also address recent sanctions imposed by the Trump Administration against the ICC for its prosecution of Israeli officials; he is one of several human rights experts challenging the sanctions as an unlawful constraint on the First Amendment rights of U.S. citizens who work with the ICC. Professor Rona is an expert in international humanitarian law, previously serving as the International Legal Director of Human Rights First and a Legal Advisor in the Legal Division of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
