Biography

Erika Christiansen (she/her) joined the University of Iowa Center for Human Rights in August 2021. Erika holds her B.F.A. and M.A. from the University of Iowa. Previously she worked with the UI Division of Student Life, UI Office of Outreach and Engagement, Columbia College, and the University of Missouri where she expanded her understanding of college student’s engagement with community partners. Her adoration for student development and institutional outreach is driven by the opportunity to create networks of involved and educated citizens. Erika continues to teach Leadership Studies focusing on experiential education and leadership through teamwork. In her spare time Erika enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering, practicing yoga and creating textile arts.
