Suzie Pritchett

Biography

Suzie Pritchett is an Associate Professor and Director of Clinics and Experiential Education at Drake University Law School. Prior to teaching at Drake, she was the Director of the International Human Rights Clinic at the University of Wyoming College of Law, where she worked with students to represent non-citizens in humanitarian immigration proceedings and engage in human rights advocacy in Cambodia, Thailand, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Namibia, and Jamaica. Professor Pritchett’s scholarship focuses on the intersection of feminist legal theory and immigration law. She holds a BA in Religious Studies from Grinnell College, an MA in Gender and International Development from the University of Sussex in the U.K., and a JD from the University of Iowa. While a student at the University of Iowa College of Law, she served as a research assistant to Professor Burns Weston, interned with the Africa Division of Human Rights Watch through support from the Cmiel Internship Program, and found her way to international human rights legal practice through the programs and resources made available by the UI Center for Human Rights.
