The first webinar in our fall series, “Human Rights and Gun Violence: Reframing the Issue” occurred and a recording is available on our UICHR YouTube channel. This conversation with Barbara A. Frey, Senior Lecturer in the Institute for Global Studies at the University of Minnesota and Director of the Human Rights Program and former UN Special Rapporteur on Gun Violence, discussed researching the impact of small arms on human rights.
The second webinar in our fall series "Constitutions, Guns, & Human Rights" occurred and a recording is available on our UICHR YouTube channel. Leila Sadat discusses the international human rights impacted by gun violence including the impact of gun rights amendments to state constitutions. Leila Sadat authored "Torture in our Schools?".
The third webinar "Masculinity, Mass Shootings, and Data Politics" occurred and a recording is available on our UICHR YouTube channel. Guests Tristan Bridges and Tara Tober explored data about why mass shootings are so disproportionately committed by men in the U.S.
